Hurray For The Riff Raff

As Hurray For The Riff Raff, singer-songwriter Alynda Segarra has been making rootsy folk for about fifteen years. Since 'The Navigator' (2017) rock music influences have been added: inspired by Bikini Kill, HFTRR told a Puerto Rican immigration story on their best-received work to date, colored by bomba, salsa and cubano, as well as systemic racism and gentrification. The new album 'Life on Earth' promises to be an ambitious concept record, which the folknomade itself describes as a 'nature punk' manifesto. The musicians themselves have been self-reliant on the road since they were 17, now sharing those survival skills with the rest of the world in songs for 'thriving, not just surviving.' The song material explores a host of new influences and themes, and is said to be their most emotional ever. This is going to be a treat!
